One part of my dissertation included a revision of the Omega Life Change Questionnaire (Ring, 1984). The revised version included a sexuality sub-scale, which, when tested for reliability, reached a Chronboch’s Alpha of .86. I am attmpting to further establish a reliable subscale and further investigate the sexual changes that occure for an individual after having a near-death experience.

It seems highly unlikely that an event that may change a person’s personality, relationships, religious and spiritual views and practices, and even a person’s physiological reactions to environmental stimuli would not have some effect on a person’s sexual identity, practices, and sexual self-concept. However, at this point it is unknown what these changes look like, primarily becuase the question has not yet been asked!

If you, the reader, have some experience personally with this topic I invite you to send me a note via email (ryan.rominger). Please be advised that email itself is not a completely secure format, but all attempts will be made to keep your information confidential.
